Available Caregiver Positions
we are actively recruiting compassionate individuals for a variety of caregiver roses. Whether you're an experienced caregiver or new to the Field, we have positions that allow you to make a meaningful impact in seniors and developmental disabled people's lives.
• Personal Care Aide – Assist clients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility, and medication reminders. You help ensure clients’ physical needs are met with dignity and respect every day.
• Companion Caregiver – Provide companionship and emotional support. Engage clients in conversation, hobbies, walks, or outings, and be a comforting presence to reduce loneliness. You’ll also help with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and errands as needed.
• Respite Care Provider – Step in to care for a client on a short-term basis so family caregivers can take a much-needed break. You’ll handle the client’s routines and safety in the family caregiver’s absence, giving families peace of mind.
• Homemaker/Household Assistant – Focus on keeping the home environment safe and comfortable. Help with tasks like cooking, cleaning, laundry, and grocery shopping, enabling clients to maintain a tidy, nourishing home life.
• Live-In/Overnight Caregiver – Provide extended care by staying with the client overnight or for 24-hour shifts. You’ll be there to assist with nighttime needs, ensure security, and offer around-the-clock support and companionship.
Don’t worry if you’re not sure which role fits you best – when you apply, our team will help match your interests, experience, and schedule to the position that’s right for you.
Qualifications and Skills We Look For
To uphold our high standard of care, we seek caregivers who not only have the right skills but also share our heart for compassionate care. Some key qualifications and qualities we look for include:
• Caring Personality: A compassionate, patient, and empathetic demeanor. You genuinely enjoy helping others and treat clients like family.
• Excellent Communication: Strong listening and speaking skills to understand client needs, engage in friendly conversation, and report any concerns to the team or family.
• Dependability: Reliability, trustworthiness, and professionalism are a must. Clients and their families rely on you, so consistent attendance and punctuality are essential.
• Experience & Training: Previous caregiving experience (personal or professional) is a plus but not always required. We welcome those new to caregiving if you have the right attitude and willingness to learn. (Any experience in senior care, healthcare, or as a home health aide or CNA is beneficial.)
• Certification: CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain one) is preferred to ensure our client’s safety. We can guide you on how to get certified if you’re not already.
• Physical Ability: You should be able to assist with tasks like transferring or lifting clients (with proper training), and be comfortable on your feet during shifts. Caring for someone may involve light physical duties.
• Background Check: Ability to pass a background check and provide professional or personal references. Our client’s security is paramount, so we screen all team members.
• Transportation: A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to travel to client homes is preferred but not required. Many clients depend on us in their homes, so you need a safe way to get to assignments (and to assist clients with errands or appointments when necessary).
If you possess these qualities and a big heart, you’re an ideal candidate for the Tophos Care team! We value character and commitment just as much as credentials.
Training Programs and Ongoing Education
We set you up for success from day one. All new hires at Tophos Care undergo a comprehensive orientation and training program to learn our best practices, safety protocols, and the unique approach we take to compassionate care. You’ll shadow and work closely with experienced team members who guide you through real-life care scenarios, helping you build confidence and skills on the job. Our commitment to education doesn’t end after orientation – we provide continuous learning opportunities so you can stay at the top of your caregiving game throughout your career.
What you can expect from our training and development:
• Initial Orientation: Introduction to Tophos Care’s mission, values, and care standards. We cover everything from client rights and privacy to emergency procedures, to how to deliver care that truly aligns with our “caring beyond limitations” philosophy.
• Hands-On Training: Practical instruction in assisting with daily living activities, proper use of mobility aids, infection control, and more. You’ll practice skills under the guidance of a trainer or mentor so you feel comfortable and prepared before working solo.
• Specialized Workshops: Ongoing workshops and courses are offered to deepen your expertise. Learn about specialized topics like Alzheimer’s/dementia care, effective communication techniques with hearing-impaired seniors, fall prevention strategies, and caring for clients with chronic conditions. We want you to be equipped for any situation you might face.
• Certification Opportunities: We encourage and assist our caregivers in obtaining relevant certifications. Need to get your CPR or First Aid certification updated? We’ll point you to resources.
• Mentorship & Support: New team members are often paired with seasoned caregivers or a supervisor who acts as a mentor. You’ll have someone to turn to with questions as you learn the ropes. Even beyond initial training, our supervisors and care coordinators are just a phone call away whenever you need guidance on a case.
• Continuous Education: As home care evolves, we keep our team informed of the latest best practices. Expect the occasional refresher training, online learning modules, or team meetings where we share tips and success stories. We believe that ongoing education makes our caregivers more confident and keeps the quality of care high.
By investing in our caregivers’ education, we invest in our clients’ well-being. When you grow, our clients benefit – and that’s a win-win situation.
Employee Benefits and Support
We understand that to care for others well, you need to be cared for too. Tophos Care is proud to offer a supportive work environment with benefits that reward your hard work and accommodate your life:
• Competitive Pay: We value your skills and compassion, and we show it with competitive hourly pay rates. As you gain experience or take on more responsibilities, there are opportunities for pay increases and performance bonuses. (We regularly review local wage standards to ensure we stay very competitive in the home care industry.)
• Flexible Schedules: Work full-time or part-time, choose daytime, evenings, overnight, or weekend shifts – we do our best to design a schedule that fits your availability. Home care is 24/7, so we have many scheduling options and can often tailor your assignments to your needs (perfect for students, parents, or those seeking supplemental income). Need to adjust your schedule? Our staffing team will work with you.
• Paid Training & Overtime: All mandatory training time is paid. If you work over a certain number of hours, we of course pay overtime. Your time is respected and compensated fairly.

Our management and office staff have an open-door policy – you can reach out anytime for help, advice, or just a listening ear. We also have on-call support 24/7, so if you encounter an urgent issue during a client visit, a staff member is always available to assist. You’ll never feel alone out in the field because our team has your back .
• Career Advancement: We’re not just offering you a job, but a path to grow (see Career Growth below for details!). We love to promote from within. If you’re excelling and ready for more responsibility, we want to help you get there. This could mean taking on a mentor role, training new caregivers, or moving into office roles – and often comes with advancement in title and pay .
• Recognition and Appreciation: Caregiving isn’t easy, and we truly appreciate our team’s dedication. We regularly acknowledge our caregivers’ outstanding work – whether through “Caregiver of the Month” awards, shout-outs in the company newsletter, gift cards, or simply a heartfelt thank-you note. Your efforts will be noticed and celebrated.
• Employee Referral Program: We believe great people know great people. If you refer a friend to join our caregiver team, you could earn a referral bonus as a thank you when they come onboard.
• Meaningful Work: Finally, one of the greatest “benefits” is the work itself. The experiences you gain and the relationships you build are incredibly rewarding. Every day you’ll know you made a difference in someone’s life – and that sense of purpose is something you just can’t put a price on.
In short, we strive to offer the flexibility, support, and rewards that you need to thrive as a caregiver . When you take care of our clients, we take care of you.

We can often accommodate school schedules or provide recommendations for stellar employees who are continuing their. education. Many healthcare professionals start as caregivers – the possibilities are endless !
We firmly believe in promoting from within. As Tophos Care grows (and we are growing!), we look first to our dedicated team members when new opportunities open up.
